On Tuesday 7 April, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Chamber Orchestra conducted by Hisham Gabr will play Sergei Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf.
The story is told by a narrator and accompanied by the orchestra.
On two consecutive matinee performances, the renowned Egyptian actor Abdelrahman Abouzahra will narrate the text in Arabic.
Over the past months the BA Arts Centre has included numerous events targeting the youngest of audiences. One of the most memorable performances was the Camille Saint-Saëns' Carnival of the Animals that included text written by Nader Salah El-Din and narration by Abouzahra. Among other significant events addressing children was last March when Bibliotheca hosted parts of Hakawy theatre festival for children.
With many other events tailored for the youngest audience, Peter and the Wolf is an opportunity for children to join the exploration of Western classical music with an element of fun.
