Dh250. That’s the newly announced price of tickets to see Madonna in Abu Dhabi on June 3, according to event organiser Flash Entertainment, which on Sunday announced the ticket catergories for the singer’s debut concert in the UAE. The organiser says that 22,000 tickets go on sale on February 27, and a “limited quantity” of the Dh250 general admission tickets -- lower than the Dh350 originally announced as the cheapest option, will be available. Once those are sold out -- as the organisers expect the entire concert to do -- those wanting to go to the concert have to fork over Dh495 for a general admission ticket. Details of the number of limited tickets were not available. General admission tickets are standing room behind the Golden Circle. Tickets for the reserved seating in the Grandstand are Dh695, while Golden Circle standing tickets, right in front of the stage, are Dh1,095. A VIP hospitality package, with a Golden Circle ticket, exclusive tour gift, official tour programme, a commemorative tour laminate, a VIP parking pass and access through a private entrance with a dedicated VIP bar including two free drinks is Dh2,295. Tickets go on sale at midday on February 27 from www.thinkflash.ae and a limited quantity across select Virgin Megastore outlets in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Flash also announced an exclusive pre-sale, to run from 10am, Wednesday February 22 until 3pm on Thursday February 23 for those who registered with Flash prior to Sunday through ticket purchase or competitions at www.thinkflash.ae. Those registered will receive a secure url with instructions on how to purchase on the morning of the first day of pre-sale, said Flash. Etihad Airways has launched concert packages with ground transportation and accommodation in the capital, which will also go on sale on February 27. Pre-registration at http://bit.ly/EtihadMadonna is recommended. Speaking about the announcement, Mira Sadek at Flash Entertainment, said, “Since we announced the Madonna show, we’ve had hundreds of calls and emails from fans all over the region. You can sense the excitement building as we get closer to the on-sale date of February 27th.”
