For the first time, Beirut played host to the American band ‘Evanescence’ Saturday, in front of Beirut Marina, where the band performed numbers from their latest album. The enthusiasm of the Lebanese fans who were anticipating the band's arrival in the Lebanese city, could be found on the social networking site ‘Facebook’. Lead singer of the band Amy Lee appeared to return the enthusiasm, by posting on her Twitter account "Beirut, Let's do this!!!" along with a photograph of the famous Raouche Rocks which can been seen from Beirut's Corniche. Doors opened at 8:00 pm, with people arriving from all over the world, and after a long wait due to technical problems, the concert finally began at 10:00 pm. The band performed for an hour and a half to a responsive audience accompanied by great sound and lighting effects. Evanescence sang What you want? Going Under, The Other Side, Lithium, Call Me When You’re Sober, Bring Me To Life, Weight Of The World, Your Star, Oceans, My Heart is Broken amongst others while their fans swayed to the rhythm of the music.
