Egyptian actor Ahmed Adam says he is sad after refusing to portray the character of renowned scientist Dr Mustafa Mahmoud in a new television series, because of budget fears. Speaking to Arabstoday, Adam revealed that he had to think twice before turning the role down. He said: "I refused to portray the character of Dr Mustafa Mahmoud because the budget of the series was very limited. I feel the story of such a great scientist deserves a good production." Adam said that he also wanted to see changes made to the script, to give it a better flow. "I feel sad after refusing the role because I wanted to portray Mahmoud on screen, but in the end, maybe refusing the role is better than participating in a weak series." Dr Mostafa Mahmoud is an Egyptian philosopher and physician who wrote more than 89 scientific, religious, philosophical, social and political books. He was the presenter of a famous Egyptian television programme called Science and Faith.
