Egyptian actor Ahmed Ezz has spoken out against proposals to grant ordinary Egyptians the right to carry out citizen’s arrest on the country’s streets. “Private militias will start to emerge,” Ezz said. “The rule of law will die out.” The acting star’s new movie The Party is currently showing in cinemas across Egypt. He co-stars alongside Mohammad Rajab, Mourad, Ahmed Saadani, Ruby and Dina Sherbini. The film was written and produced by Wael Abdullah and directed by Ahmed Alaa.
