The Egyptian artist, Saad Al Soghayar, has refused to “kiss dancer Dina on different parts of her body” during the filming of “Haram Street” because he “fears God” and refuses to produce illicit scenes. Al Soghayar said that those scenes are unacceptable to him because they anger God, in addition to not liking his fans seeing him in that image as well. In response to the public’s surprise that he dances during weddings, he said: “dancing cannot be compared with those scenes, as dancing is not scandalous and everyone dances to songs at weddings.” He added that he would not engage in an immoral act that he would be ashamed if his children saw. The artist has also refused to depict the Egyptian revolution in film or song saying as he thinks that it has been over-done. “Egypt needs more than singing and I hope to contribute to it financially and spiritually”, he added. He also acknowledged that he will have to change the type of his songs following the revolution so that it appeals to the “new Egypt.”
