Egyptian superstar Amro Diab is preparing to hold his first performance in Cairo after the January 25 Revolution that took place in Egypt, which overthrew the government of ousted President Husni Mubarak. The event will take place at the Cairo American University (AUC) on June 2. According to the internet website MBC.net, Amro announced that he will donate a portion of the proceeds from the concert to the poor and different charity organizations. Organizer of the concert Waleed Mansour said that the concert will be attended by only 5 thousand people to ensure that it is of the best standards. Most of the concert goers are AUC students and their friends and tickets for the event were sold out the moment they announced sales. Intense security measures are arranged to ensure the safety of everyone. In addition the stage being prepared is one of the biggest to be witnessed in Egypt and is equipped with the latest sound technologies. The concert will mark Amro’s return to holding concerts at AUC after a seven year absence.
