Syrian singer Asala Nasry "risked her life" by going to Lebanon to appear on a TV show, she told Arabstoday. "I wanted to prove that my love for Lebanon surpassed everything and that everything I've said before wasn't meant to denigrate this love and appreciation for the Lebanese, but only to criticise those who support the Syrian people's killer," she said, referring to Lebanese politicians who support Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the current civil war. Asala said her visit to Beirut won't be her last as she will continue to drop in on occasion "because I love this city and its lovely people. The Syrian singer denied receiving death threats upon her arrival in Beirut, saying she was met with "the Lebanese people's usual hospitality."
