Egyptian singer Saad Al-Soghir has apparently decided to join Egypt's presidential race although he had told Arabstoday earlier that it was only a rumour. In another statement to Arabstoday, Saad said he found great support from his neighbours in Shoubra. He was surprised by his popularity, and decided to go to the electoral commission to submit the application form. Saad said: “My neighbours told me that I’m the best representative of them and suited to protect Egypt.” Saad had told Arabstoday earlier: “I never thought about this as I don’t know anything in politics, how shall I run for presidency? I don’t know who is behind all these rumours."
