The Syrian singer George Wassouf in an interview with Arabstoday, confirmed that he is on the mend following the stroke he suffered which caused temporary paralysis to his right hand and foot and that he would soon resume his art. Wassouf, speaking to Arabstoday from his residence in Beirut, wanted to reassure his fans that he was getting better "thanks to the love I have received from the public, my wife, my children and parents who are praying for me. I knew that God would take care of me." He said that this health ordeal led him to re-discover who his real friends were and those who were not. He expressed gratitude to those who remained true to him. He added that his new song Al-Om (The mother) will be released in time for Mother’s Day in March and that he has dedicated it to all mothers around the world.
