Director Inas El-Doghaidi ignored the fact that she is on Hezbollah’s blacklist of artists, and travelled to Beirut anyway. Speaking on TV show “Lil Nasher”, Inas pointed out that she travelled to Beirut a few days ago due to the fact that she “does not believe in those lists”. She is convinced that Hezbollah only blacklist individuals who deal with the Zionist occupiers, and not artists. The director has previously announced that she is contemplating leaving Egypt and living abroad in order to continue her artistic works out, of fears that the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafis would take over the government in Egypt. Inas’s fears derive from when the Muslim Brotherhood demanded she be killed for her liberal cinematic ideas, especially after announcing her new film which revolves around the topic of incestuous adultery.
