Outspoken Egyptian actress Jihane Fadel has hit out at the "lenient" sentences handed out to defendants in the Port Said football massacre case, claiming the “true orchestrator” of the tragedy was still walking free. Speaking at Luxor’s African Film Festival, the actress declared her solidarity with "the martyrs' families," adding that she would continue to join marches and protests organised by the al-Ahly ultras. "The revolution has never been and never will be against individuals or in support of individuals,” Fadel claimed. “It is against despotic regimes that seek to silence dissent.”
