Egyptian actress Laila Elwy expressed her delight at being shortlisted as a Goodwill Ambassador for the Japanese academy “Narita”, referring in her statements to Arabstoday that an artist is always there for his country through time and art. Though the issue is still under recommendation, she said that she is very happy for this selection as long as it is related to the country’s development. Laila Elwy has been elected alongside a group on artists and football players from the country’s development project program, which the Japanese Academy “Narita” started with the cooperation of el-Farouq Charity Foundation which aims to develop every country’s youth on its personal talents and to raise their knowledge in all fields which will qualify them to carry their social and individual responsibility. It should be mentioned that Laila features in a series during Ramadan this year “Napoleon Wal Mahrosa” (Napoleon and the Guarded) with the participation of other actors including Sameh al-Serety, Sherif Salama, Arwa Goda and Farah Youssif. The series is written by Azza Shalaby and directed by the Tunisian Shawqy el-Magary.
