UN Goodwill Ambassador for the Environment, singer Ragheb Alama, stressed his support for "Clean Seas" campaign, launched by United Nations Environmental Organization, which aims to eliminate the plastic bags that are used once by people.
"We are in urgent need for such a campaign to eliminate such huge quantities of plastic that pollute our seas, , and other things that destroy our wealth of water, and the future of our waters, and I hope that all cooperate in order to eliminate those dangerous scourge that must not be neglected," Alama added in special statements for Arabs Today.
"I know that any artist has an impact on public opinion, and from this perspective, I work to improve the environment , contributing to encircle all that will hurt its future turning it into a threat to human life," the Lebanese singer said.
Alama was appointed, a few years ago, as UN Goodwill Ambassador for the Environment, in a ceremony was held in Beirut.
