After appearing on “Al Jadeed” TV station and announcing that he is contemplating quitting singing and singing Islamic canticles instead, Melhem Zein caused huge confusion in the music community/circle/scene. He revealed to “ArabsToday” that the idea is still there but that he won’t be going ahead with it just yet until maybe another few years, as he described the move as “bold” and in need of an “in-depth studying”. He added that he is currently committed to a number of artistic contracts, which he would not abandon because he respects the people he works with. On the other hand, Melhem said that he had to postpone the release of his album until October, because “the current circumstance do not allow for the release of a new album.” He will however be releasing a new Iraqi-themed song in the Middle East soon, music composed by Ali Bader.
