Artist Nelly Makdessi revealed today that she is preparing to release a new video clip from her album of the song titled “Ya Arab” written by Nizar Francis, music composition by Ziad Burji, distributed by Tony Saba and directed by Fadi Haddad. The clip’s story revolves around a Bedouin girl who gets kidnapped from her tribe only to become a maid for the King, where she rejects all temptations offered by the King because she is in love with a man from her tribe. She said that “I went back to the Bedouin style because that was my style when I first started singing, and no other artist does this style better than me, that’s what makes me different to other artists.” She revealed that she prefers to film and release at least one song rather than be confined within a framework preparing for the album only. On the other hand, she denied what was said about her presenting an artistic TV show, on one of Lebanon’s TV stations, stating that she “doesn’t care about that type of work” and that she “was not born to be a presenter.” She said she may want to do acting on TV or theatre, but no presenting as it “does not suit her personality.” She noted that there is constantly someone fighting her, as she feels that she “has an effect on other artists,” which bothers them especially that her work is always special whether it is her songs or how huge her clips are.
