Actor Omar Sharif did not have a heart attack and is not in hospital in Beirut, special sources told Arabstoday. Furthermore, they confirmed that the international Arab star was surprised at hearing the news while he was staying at a hotel in Al Hamra Street in Beirut, as his friends rushed to call him to check that he’s doing well. It turned out that a Lebanese newspaper released the news in its Entertainment section. Lebanese Producer Safwat Ghattas confirmed that Omar was not admitted into hospital and was in Beirut for a personal visit. Moreover, Ghattas explained that the rumor about Omar’s illness angered him a lot because it seriously worried those close to him. Sharif refused to make any comments to the media as he stressed that he is in Beirut on a personal visit, as he visited Zahle city in Bekaa where he originally comes from.
