Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama has denied reports claiming he offended fellow Lebanese musician Elissa by saying she has a bad voice. The Arab Idol judge told Arabstoday that he did not utter a single word that was published claiming he attacked her. He said: “I didn’t insult Elissa, or undermine her talent in anyway. On the contrary I praised her for sharing her experiences as a judge on a new programme.” He emphasised: “I didn’t say she had a bad voice, all I said is that singers sometimes sing out of tune – I do it too – it’s not a big deal.” The star expressed his love for Elissa’s music, saying her sound is “absolutely wonderful” and that not many can compete with her. Alama stated he wanted to clear the air so there are no hard feelings between the pair. He said: “I telephoned Elissa straightaway and told her not to listen to any rubbish said. She said she never once thought the rumours were true – and that was the end of that.”
