Egyptian media personality Rasha Nabil is working to develop a new television programme, Arabstoday learnt in an exclusive interview. The new programme will follow the format of a talk show, which will aim to provide efficient and object news coverage. It is set to be aired on the Dream Channel with Nabil and Mona Salam alternating as presenters. The broadcaster is currently finalising details with engineers including Osama al-Sheikh, Osama Ezz el-Deen and Mohammed Khedr. She has yet to decide upon a name for the programme. Nabil described her two-year stint at Egyptian TV as “character building,” emphasising that the Egyptian Radio and Television Union has previously nurtured outstanding talent. She hinted that her work environment has become increasingly fraught since television “lost its credibility amongst Egyptian citizens,” and that she and her colleagues have endeavoured to change negative aspects of their industry. However, the “major crisis” that persists in Egyptian television has prompted her to take a career break. When she announced her decision on air, Nabil expressed her gratitude towards the directors, producers and presenters with whom she has worked over the past 2 years.
