Star comedian Samir Ghanem has refused to portray an iconic character he is renowned for essaying in an advertisement. "I refuse to disrespect my professional histroy and the memory of late veteran director Fahmy Abdel Hamid...I refuse to play 'Fatotuta' in an ad, this character is extremely popular among audiences and now belongs among history's greats" he said. As for “Sharbat Louz”, which is now broadcasting where he stars with actress Yosra, Ghaniem said: “Audiences will see me playing a different role from my usual ones, as I am not playing a comic character as they expect, I am not on stage, but I am playing a normal character.” Talking about cinema, Ghanem said: “I have left the big screen to my daughters Donia and Emy, and if they wanted me to act, I would not hesitate for a second.”
