Egyptian singer and actor Tamer Housni confirmed that his TV Drama ‘Adam’ which was screened during Ramadan is not an intention to make up for his mistake, or to prove that he opposes the former regime. Housni added that ‘he is so patriotic and that there is no doubt that he loves his home country Egypt.’ Regarding the time he spent in prison when he tried to evade serving in the military, Tamer said that it was a mistake that he made at a young age and made up for it during his time in prison. Tamer said that he was able prove himself in a short period of time and that he became the most popular singer for national songs. Commenting on the drama, Tamer showed his support for the remarks made by the drama writer Ahmed Mahmoud Abu Zeid when he said that Adam is the first TV drama in Egypt that dealt with religious and political issues in-depth, where no one could have done that in the past decade with the old regime in place.
