UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon Friday called for eliminating negative impacts caused by climate change in order to maintain development sustainability behond 2015.
Addressing the 45th World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Ban said the world was facing many crises this year specially related to geopolitical, economic and social development, in addition to guaranteeing sustainable development byond 2015.
He called for reaching an international agreement to eliminate negative impacts of climate change, when representatives of countries around the world meetin Paris coming December.
Ban said UN member countries have proposed sustainable development goals aimed at addressing poverty until 2030, and negotiations over these goals have already started in New York this week.
He expected these proposals would materialize in an international declaration by world leaders.
Ban meanwhile commended the European Union's (EU) decision to cut 40 percent of emissions of gases causing global warming by the year 2030.
Ban said future generations would blame them if they fail to defend our moral and historic obligations.
