Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted Egypt's keenness on exerting efforts and seizing available opportunities to communicate and cooperate among the three eastern Nile Basin states for the best interests of all nations in the region.
Addressing the conference on the ministers of foreign affairs and water resources of Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia on Ethiopia's dam, which opened here on Tuesday, Shoukry said the ministerial meeting of the three nations is very important as being the first to be held at the level of ministers of foreign affairs and water resources and irrigation together.
Our common resources are enormous and enough to realize the aspirations of our peoples if they were well invested, he said, asserting that keenness of the three nations on continuing with periodical meetings reflects joint awareness of the need to unify efforts and render cooperation successful.
