Water Resources Minister Hossam Moghazi confirmed that the ninth round of negotiations on Ethiopia’s Grand Renaissance Dam, which wrapped here Sunday, was successful.
A meeting grouping the foreign and water resources ministers of Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia will take place in Cairo soon to discuss Egyptian concerns on the dam, the minister said in a final statement issued at the conclusion of the round.
During the ninth round, Egypt put forward all its concerns about the dam, especially that its construction pace is going in a way that does not allow the implementation of the principles declaration deal signed by the three countries’ presidents in Khartoum in March, he said.
The tenth round will convene on November 21-23 in Khartoum in the presence of representatives of the two firms that will carry out the dam studies, he added
