Qena Governor Abdel Hamid el Hagan on Wednesday said that an operation to lift a vessel that sank in the Nile River yesterday has kicked off.
In statements, el Hagan said that dredgers and tugs were sent to the scene to lift the vessel which sank with 500 tons of phosphate on board.
As many as 32 samples were taken from the Nile water and all tested negative against toxic substances, the governor added.
