Palestinian Minister of Housing Mofeed Al Hasayena said that his ministry exerts increasing efforts to contact with different foreign institutions to secure new grants to accelerate Gaza's reconstruction.


He added, in an interview with "Arabs Today", that the major challenge in this regard is the delay of ending the partial damages issue that resulted from the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip. He pointed out the required money to end the is issue is not less than $ 100 million.

He added that the people who benefit from the Kuwaiti grant received $ 9 million. He added the number of those  people reached to 1055 persons.

Regarding the cement issue, the Palestinian Minister said that they got the Israeli approval to provide cement to 1500 Palestinians of those who have been affected by the Israeli war on Gaza.

He clarified that he recently made a tour in the a number of Arab countries, saying that he discussed the issue of the partial damages with Saudi Fund and Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah. He praised the positions adopted by these institutions, saying that they provided very good promises.

He added that the government had no authority to control the board of energy sector, adding that the electricity problem in Gaza needs large amounts of money to be resolved. He expressed his frustration over leaving the Palestinian government alone to resolve this problem.

He added that the Qatari government expressed its readiness to provide the power plants with gas to operate them.
