Minister of Environment Khaled Fahmy said he was ordered by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail to take urgent action to solve the garbage collection problem.
In statements to MENA on Tuesday, Fahmy said the garbage file has become under the supervision of the Environment Ministry and in coordination with the Local Development Ministry.
He said minister of urban development in the former government Laila Iskander has been working on the garbage collection file for over 15 months, adding that the ministry will continue with its efforts from the point reached by the former minister
