Strenuous efforts are being exerted to confront water challenges inside and outside Egypt, affirmed Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hossam Moghazi.
"We will spare no effort in order to preserve our water rights in Nile River," he said, adding that it is important to rationalize consumption and confront encroachments on the Nile River and pollution.
Moghazi's remarks came during his speech Sunday on the occasion marking the World Water Day, which falls on March 22.
The water gap increases with the population growth, he warned, adding that Egypt's share of the Nile waters is 55.5 billion cubic meters per year.
He, meanwhile, underlined the need of rallying efforts to rationalize water consumption and preserve Nile River and its water resources.
