The European Union will begin "exploratory contacts" with Britain to start mapping out their relationship after the UK leaves the bloc in 2019, EU President Donald Tusk said Friday.
"As for the framework for future relations, it is now time for internal EU 27 preparations and exploratory contacts with the UK to get more clarity on their vision," Tusk said after EU leaders agreed to begin the next round of Brexit talks at a summit in Brussels.
