"Multiple" people were killed early Monday when a passenger train derailed in Washington state, sending at least one car off a bridge onto a crowded highway, officials said.
"There are multiple fatalities," a spokesman for the Pierce County Sheriff's Department, Ed Troyer, told reporters near the scene.
