A magnitude 6.0 quake struck Iran early Friday, close to the eastern city of Kerman, the US Geological Survey said.
The tremor hit at a shallow depth of 10 kilometres (six miles), some 58 kilometres northeast of Kerman, followed by a magnitude 5.0 aftershock some ten minutes later, the survey said.
