Egyptian actor Ahmed Adam expressed his happiness about the role he is playing in a series to be shown during next Ramadan. Adam will star in the role as Egyptian scientist Dr Mostafa Mahmoud in a show written by Waleed Youssef who has almost finished writing the script. Mahmoud is an Egyptian writer, philosopher and doctor who studied medicine and wrote about 100 books. Some of his books were scientific, others were religious, philosophical, social and political, in addition to tales, plays and travel stories. He also was a presenter of the famous show Science and Faith (al Elm wal Eman) and he died in 2009. Adam told Arabstoday: “I’m very happy to take this part and represent the character of Dr Mostafa Mahmoud in a TV series. He is the model of the creative scientist in many fields, in addition to his character which is full of drama.” Adam added: “I met Dr Mostafa Mahmoud long before his death, and I found myself imitating him so he liked me and I replied saying that I’d like to play his character in a drama show, so the Dr smiled.” Adam explained that he is now studying the character of the late scientist through reading his books and watching his TV programmes.
