Warned Bros. TV is reportedly looking into bringing a new female heroine to primetime television.
Deadline reports the production company is in the early stages of developing a TV series for Supergirl. The project will consist of a "new interpretation of the Supergirl character and her story."
Greg Berlanti -- who is producing two other upcoming DC superheroes series Arrow and Flash -- is said to be working with Ali Adler for the new show. Adler is set to write the show and co-executive produce alongside Berlanti and Sarah Schechter.
The Supergirl series remains nameless at this point as the production team is considering several options, but the project is expected to be pitched to the major networks in a couple of weeks.
Supergirl was created by Otto Binder and artist Al Plastino in 1959 and was meant to be the female counterpart of Superman.
DC/WBTV has four series coming out soon including Gotham on Fox, Arrow and Flash on the CW and Constantine on NBC.
