U.S. television network CBS say it has ordered full seasons of its freshman series \"Vegas\" and \"Elementary.\" Dennis Quaid plays a rancher-turned-sheriff in 1960s Nevada in \"Vegas.\" Michael Chiklis and Jason O\'Mara co-star. \"Elementary\" updates the iconic 19th century British private eye Sherlock Holmes as a modern-day sleuth working in New York City. Jonny Lee Miller plays Holmes and Lucy Liu plays Dr. Joan Watson, his partner in crime-solving. \"\'Vegas\' and \'Elementary\' have opened strong, delivering big audiences and winning performances in important time periods,\" Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment, said in a statement Tuesday. \"Each of the shows has rich characters, big stars and a unique visual style that have stood out in the crowd, helping make two of our strongest nights even stronger.\"
