Dave Grohl unveiled a decades-old demo titled "Hooker on the Street" in the latest episode of his HBO docu-series Sonic Highways.
The show focuses on Grohl's band Foo Fighters as they went on an "eight-city recording odyssey" while creating their eighth studio album, Sonic Highways.
The last episode of the show found the band in Seattle, Washington and revisited Grohl's past as the drummer of Nirvana. While reminiscing about his time with the rock band, producer Barrett Jones revealed Grohl wrote up to 40 tracks during his last years with the band, including "Hooker on the Street," which played during the episode.
Grohl then said Kurt Cobain kissed him on the face when he first heard the track.
"He was so excited. He was like, 'I heard you recorded some stuff with Barrett [Jones].' I was like, 'Yeah.' He was like, 'Let me hear it.' I was too afraid to be in the same room as he listened to it."
Grohl founded the Foo Fighters in Seattle in 1994 after Nirvana, his previous band, broke up following Cobain's untimely death that same year.
Sonic Highways airs Fridays on HBO.
