The show ‘Omar ibn Al Khattab’ , which airs on MBC and Qatar TV during Ramadan, is considered the biggest drama series in today's television. The co-production between MBC Group and the Qatar Media Corporation is based on the life of Caliph Omar ibn Al Khattab, the pioneer of the Islamic State. The historical series deals with the principles of ‘Al Farouk’ (Caliph Omar), like justice, good governance, wisdom, tolerance, leadership, heroism etc. It also sheds light on personal qualities of the Caliph, in addition to the social environment at the time in terms of values, concepts as well as the natural geographical environment. Broadcasting rights are going to be granted to several TV networks around the world for example, but not limited to, the leading Turikish ATV Network which will air the series with Turkish dubbing. Fadi Ismail, the general manager of O3 Productions said: “The ‘Omar ibn Al Khattab’ series' towards being international has already started, actually from the Middle East, passing through Turkey and arriving at other countries, so that viewers around the world will be able to follow it and discover the past of the Caliph, builder of the Islamic State." Ismail continues: “As for the ATV Network, they showed a patient follow-up and serious attention to the work since it was a drama, through successive phases of production and finally in the acquisition of rights to dubbing and broadcasting.”
