J.J. Abrams previews the X-Wing Starfighter used in Star Wars: Episode VII in a new video for charity.
The 48-year-old director shot the video on location in London to promote the Force for Change campaign for UNICEF Innovation Labs. The initiative seeks to improve the lives of children and families around the world by supplying innovative services, products and systems that help improve quality of life.
The fundraiser is hosted on Omaze, and has raised over $1 million thus far. Fans who contribute this week will automatically be entered for the chance to win an advance private screening of Star Wars: Episode VII with 20 friends. In addition, one winner and their guest will be flown to London to meet the cast and get a behind-the-scenes look on set. The winner will be transformed into a Star Wars character, with the chance of their scene appearing in the movie.
Disney has pledged an additional $1 million, and the campaign ends Friday, July 25. Star Wars: Episode VII is scheduled for release December 18, 2015.
