Kirstie Alley's series Kirstie has been canceled after one season.
The sitcom premiered in December 2013 on TV Land, and came to a close in February. The comedy starred Alley as Maddie Banks, a Tony award-winning actress, whose son Arlo (Eric Petersen) reappears after his adoptive parents die. Rhea Perlman (Cheers) co-starred as Maddie's secretary, Thelma Katz, with Michael Richards (Seinfeld) as Maddie's driver, Frank Baxter. Guest cast members included Jason Alexander as agent Stanford Temple, Kristen Chenoweth as understudy Brittany Gold and John Travolta as stagehand Mickey Russo.
The cancellation may be related to creator and showrunner Marco Pennette's departure. Pennette left the program at the end of season one due to personal reasons.
Alley came to fame as Rebecca Howe on Cheers, and has starred in series Veronica's Closet and Fat Actress since. The actress will next appear as Aunt Rita alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Biel in David O. Russell film Nailed.
