Egyptian actress Laila Olwy told Arabstoday that “Napleon wal Mahrousa" (Napoleon and the Guarded) was about the Egyptian people and their unity, and "not about Napleon Bonaparte as a biography”. The series is a “historical epic that highlights the Egyptian unity of all different classes against the oppression of tyranny”. “In the series I speak French, as required by the work which is not strange to me. I will not need to improve my language because I’ve studied in a French school till the end of my secondary education,” she said. Laila said: “I’m very happy about this work, and I’m always optimistic about working during Ramadan. I can never forget the series ‘Akho El Banat’ (Brother of the Girls) with the star Mahmoud Yassin which was shown during Ramadan and I consider it my birth certificate in TV.” About the intense competition between top actors next Ramadan, she explained: “I’m very happy to work with them, there were many months of Ramadan in which the best soap opera stars were abscent. But now, TV shoes are witnessing a great resurgence.” About her film roles, she said: “I’ve been offered a lot of scripts, when I find the right one I’ll say yes immediately.” The last TV series with Olwy was "Al Shwaree Al Khalfeya" (Back Streets) last year with actor Gamal Ismail.
