Lea Michele has opened up about the difficulties she encountered on the Scream Queens set.
The 28-year-old actress discussed the upcoming Fox series at the TCA summer press tour Thursday. Michele came to fame on musical comedy-drama Glee, and admitted it was hard to take on a vastly different role for the new show.
"It's a completely different world in horror, it's a lot more difficult," she told FOX411 of the project, which is co-created by Glee creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. "This is challenging working with a balance of comedy and horror."
The actress is best known for portraying Rachel Berry on Glee, and will play sorority pledge Hester "Neckbrace" on Scream Queens. The character attempts to join Kappa Kappa Tau, which president Chanel Oberlin (Emma Roberts) rules with an iron fist.
"[Emma] challenges me as an actress, because to have someone every day, [who] comes prepared and knows their lines and gives it to you on every take, you have to be on your absolute best," Michele lauded of the American Horror Story actress.
Scream Queens will premiere Sept. 22, and co-star Jamie Lee Curtis and Abigail Breslin. Murphy, who also co-created American Horror Story, said the show will have "a much more satirical, cartoonish quality to the attacks than [AHS], which is much more sexualized and darker."
