U.S. actress and singer Hilary Duff has confirmed via Twitter she is planning to star in and produce a new television series. "Ok it's official! Very excited about my development deal with 20th century fox!! t.v. here I come! :)" she tweeted. Deadline.com said the studio is developing a half-hour comedy vehicle for the 24-year-old star but, if the project doesn't work out for some reason, can cast her in another comedy or drama series. There was no word on the premise of the 30-minute sitcom that is in the works. Duff told E! News in June she is also heading back to the recording studio. "I'm getting kind of nervous," she said at the time. "Next week I have all these meetings set with different producers and writers. I'm excited to start that process and I'm so nervous." Duff is best known for her work on TV's "Lizzie McGuire" and "Gossip Girl." Her film credits include "The Lizzie McGuire Movie," "Agent Cody Banks," "Cheaper by the Dozen," "A Cinderella Story" and "Cheaper by the Dozen 2." She married Mike Comrie, who plays for the Ottawa Senators hockey team, in August 2010. Their son, Luca, was born nearly five months ago.
