Lucy Liu admitted on The View she had some challenges directing Thursday's episode of her detective drama Elementary.
The actress-turned-auteur said the CBS show's latest mystery involves pregnant zebras which go missing from the Bronx Zoo, so, of course, she wanted to shoot the episode on location. However, a surprise snowfall made the production a little difficult.
"They said it was just going to be some flurries," Liu said on Wednesday's edition of The View, as a clip from the Elementary episode showed cast members Jon Michael Hall and Jonny Lee Miller trudging through the snow-covered zoo.
"We could have been in Alaska. The snowflakes were this big," she said gesturing with her hands.
The weather wasn't the only obstacle Liu and the cast faced.
"Zebras don't really hang out in the winter because they are warm-weather animals, so we had to actually bring zebras up from the south. ... We had heaters and things for them," she revealed.
The series, which features Miller and Liu as modern-day incarnations of famous sleuths Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, is now in its third season.
