Young actor Mohamed el-Ahmady had a meeting with success lately, as his series “El Khawaga Abdel Kader” ( Abdel Kader the foreigner) received very position reactions. In an exclusive interview with Arabstoday, el-Ahmady said: “The thing that makes me incredibly proud is that no one knew me before I started in this series.” The young actor incarnates Abdel Kader, a character who will face many changes throughout the series, between drug addiction and redemption. El-Ahmady was proud to explain that he was called by director Yehia el-Kakhrany himself: “He gave me the script of the series without telling me which role I would have. When I read it, I felt that the character of Abdel Kader was for me. I was so happy when I was given the role.” Mohamed also shared some funny anecdotes with us: “I’ve had to learn the dialect and the accent of Abdel Kader. I have a dialect CD in the car that comes with me everywhere I go!” The actor officially declared his admiration for el-Fakhrany and said he was his artistical father. Mohamed said that he wants to incarnate varied and different roles, without being restricted to specific roles. He added that he refused many roles as he thought he wouldn’t fit in them. He added that he would not be looking for other roles, but that he would look for work with important actors to get advice from them.
