Charlie Puth
London - Muslimchronicle

Havana singer Camila Cabello left girl group Fifth Harmony on seemingly sour terms in 2016. Since then, the foursome released a self-titled album, and Cabello began to ascend the solo pop ranks. Now, the 20-year-old is gearing up to release her self-titled debut. She’s enlisted the help of some big names, on both the production and feature sides (think Sia, Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX and Ryan Tedder). It will be interesting to hear how Cabello fills up an entire album (mostly) on her own.

It’s no secret Charlie Puth can lay down a great earworm — We Don’t Talk Anymore and Attention are the kind of songs that beg for repeat listening. But his debut album, Nine Track Mind, failed to make an impression in 2016 — it peaked at No 6 on the Billboard Hot 200 and was slated by critics. The question is: Will Puth be able to sound more cohesive on VoiceNotes, past the singles and big hits? We’re excited to find out.

Nearly 20 years after conquering the pop world, Craig David is back on our radio stations. The British singer mastered the art of making buttery smooth R’nB in the early noughties — Walking Away, 7 Daysand Fill Me In were all from his 2000 debut album, Born to Do It.David, now 36, turned to DJing in recent years, but he dropped his first album in six years in 2016. The two-time Grammy nominee seems to be back in top form, with his latest single I Know You (ft. Bastille) promising nothing but good things.
