English singer-songwriter, Adele, won 5 Grammy Awards at the 59th annual Grammy Awards, which was held on February 12th at Staples Center, La (California).

Adele dominated music categories with five wins for Best Album of the Year for “25,” Best Song of the Year, Best Record of the Year, Best Pop Polo performance for, all for “Hello.” The fifth award was for Best Pop Vocal Album for “25.”

Adele did not forget to praise her idol and rival American star Beyonce, who was nominated for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Album of the Year at the 2017 Grammies. Beyonce, however, went home with only two 2017 Grammies.

When Adele accepted her award for Best Album of the Year for “25,” she admitted that this award should have been given to Queen B, “because she deserves it and that Lemonade album was very monumental.” Adele continued her comments saying that, “I cannot possibly accept this award. I am very humbled and very grateful and gracious, but my life is Beyonce.”

The People’s Choice Awards kicked off the main phase of music’s annual awards season. 23-year-old Rapper, Chance, became the first new artist to win a Grammy without selling physical copies of his music. Best Rap Song and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration Grammies went to Canadian rapper Drake for ”Hotline Bling.”

The Chainsmokers won Best Dance Recording for “Don’t let me down,” while the Best Metal Performance went to Megadeth.

Patton Oswalt won Best Comedy Album, and Jennifer Hudson of “The Color Purple” won for Best Musical Theater Album.

David Bowie won two awards for Best Rock Song and Best Alternative Music Album “BlackStar,” while Best Rock Album went to Cage the Elephant for “Tell me I’m pretty.”

American record producer, Greg Kurstin, won the award for Non-Classical Producer of the year.

Other great shortlisted Grammy winners included Ziggy Marley, who won Best Raggae Album, and the Beatles for Best Music Film for “Eight Days a Week.”
