The French designer is collaborating with the Australian lifestyle and surf brand on a new capsule collection.
Quiksilver has announced a three-year design partnership with Julien David with the first drop set to be unveiled on June 25 as part of David's Spring-Summer 2015 collection show in Paris during the city's menswear week.
The 'Julien David Quiksilver' line will include a range of board shorts, wetsuits, rash-guards and t-shirts for men. The designs will incorporate Quiksilver's new eco-driven production methods as well as their AG47 board short technology.
"I am extremely happy to collaborate with the most renowned surfwear brand in the world," explained Julien. "I grew up wearing Quiksilver clothes and dreaming of this Californian lifestyle."
It's the first time that Quiksilver has teamed up with a designer since the brand's foundation in 1969, and the company hopes to "redefine the relationship between surfwear and high fashion" with the collection.
Trained at Parsons in New York City, David worked for Narciso Rodriguez and Ralph Lauren before he founded his namesake label in 2007. He was awarded the prestigious Andam Grand Prix in 2012, and his collection is currently carried in his own Tokyo store as well as multibrands around the world including Colette and Le Bon Marché in Paris, Dover Street Market, and Isetan.
