The Atlas Mountains have been featured as the setting of Mango’s latest advertising campaign.
The Iberian ready-to-wear brand has chosen the Atlas Mountains as a setting for “Beyond The Mirror”, the brand’s latest advertising campaign accompanying the launch of its spring-summer 2017 collection.
In a video made by the Italian photographer Mario Sorrenti, the models wear the last collection of the brand in ocher landscapes with a Martian theme.
Mirrors are used to reflect both the models and the Atlas Mountains themselves, giving the background a Martian impression.
The clip is intended to show “strong and poetic images in a surreal setting that invite you to explore our new campaign,” explained the brand.
Mango partnered with manufacturers in Morocco, using fabrics including organic and recycled cotton, recycled polyester, and Tencel for the capsule collection.
Morocco has been for several years a filming destination for the advertisements of famous brands like Kenzo and Jimmy Choo, as well as various fashion magazines.
Last October, Conde Nast Traveler magazine organized a photo shoot in Chefchaouen to present the Resort 2017 collection of the haute-couture Chanel brand.
According to a statement on the magazine’s website, “the blue walls of Chefchaouen are a perfect setting for this eclectic collection of Chanel.”
