The fashionable crowd of Riyadh celebrated with style the launch of Anya Hindmarch’s first ever boutique in the Middle East — located on the Kingdom Center’s ladies floor.
Hindmarch is an English fashion accessories designer. She is the first accessories designer to hold an on-schedule London Fashion Week show. Her shows have become renowned for their creativity and wit. Hindmarch’s latest fall/winter16 collection is inspired by digital design as well as the infusion of Arcadia and color building blocks.
Riyadh’s fashion bloggers, vloggers, trendsetters and social media influencers attended the event. “It is always great to attend an event where you get to see all those people you follow on social media and to check their style and fashion picks from the event,” said one of the attendees. “I personally fell in love with Anya Hindmarch’s style, those pixelated colorful handbags add a great touch to any outfit,” she added.
The fun and vibrant brand showcased its latest FW16 and SS16 collection to Riyadh’s elite crowd comprising fashion journalists, bloggers, designers and influencers from the region.
Inspired by 8-bit graphics and the origins of digital art, the Autumn Winter 2016 collection was brought to life in a pixel-inspired show and artful pixelated seasonal campaign. You can also create and share your own pixelated artwork using the accompanying ‘PIX’ app.
From Yallah stickers to pacman symbols, the brand embodied a new feel appealing to a young crowd and a more fashionable, older and mature crowd that begged to differ.
The Pac-Man Ghost collection was one of the most talked about collections from the Autumn Winter runway. It features luxurious shearling backpacks, cross-body bags, coin purses and tassels. The Ephson is a soft day bag that can be completely folded flat, which makes it perfect for traveling. The designer developed a new technique to add bold graphics to her collection. Similar to marquetry, it’s a delicate process that creates a beautiful effect with lots of feather-joined layers.
The runway bag straps were the highlight of the night. As seen on the runway, the diamante embellished detachable straps are the perfect way to make your bag your own.
The infamous Bathurst and Pixel bags took center stage, while the legendary Anya Hindmarch sticker wall and sticker art bag straps came in by popular demand and instantly caught attention.
Other pieces that stood out were bags inspired by emojis such as smiley bags and pixelated monster art, fluff pacman backpacks, and gazing eye bags that came in compact and practical designs from the FW16 collection.
The highlights of the night included super chic music played by an in-house DJ, Anya Hindmarch Digital Art inspired canapés and a pixelated instant print photo booth, using a special app ‘PIX’ designed by the brand that’s available on App Store and Google Play.
