More families appear to be heading to ski resorts this year after new data revealed chalet beds are selling out for the school holiday periods. Data collected from 143 different chalet companies, representing 1,145 properties across the Alps and North America, found the New Year week to be the most popular and are currently 88.89% full. This is a significant boost on the 79.63% figure registered at during the same period last year. The results from Alpine Luxury Chalets also saw that half term has seen a boost with 78.42% of chalets sold already, compared to just 53.48% that were sold at this time last year. Christmas bookings are relatively similar, with 72% of this season’s sold compared to 74.10% last year. However those without children seem to be hanging on before they book, with January and early February currently around 4% lower each week compared to last year. April bookings are also less at the moment, as Easter is at the end of the month. Source: Travel Daily
