Abu Dhabi - Arabstoday

Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara will open its doors on June 1, introducing a new level of luxury hospitality in the UAE capital. Nestled among Abu Dhabi’s plentiful mangrove reserves, Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa will appeal to business and leisure guests alike, serving as an urban sanctuary in the heart of the city which combines stylish comfort with natural beauty. The five-star resort is situated just 15 minutes from Abu Dhabi International Airport and 10 minutes from key business centres such as downtown Abu Dhabi as well as the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company (ADNEC).  Wholly owned by Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC), Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara will be Anantara’s third property to open in the UAE.  Its current portfolio includes the award-winning Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara, located in the legendary Liwa Desert in the Empty Quarter and Desert Islands Resort & Spa by Anantara on Sir Bani Yas Island. Commenting on the upcoming opening of the hotel, Michel Koopman, General Manager of Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara and Director of Operations for Anantara in the Middle East said:  “Eastern Mangroves really has the potential to be the jewel in Abu Dhabi’s tourism crown. Through its location and services, the hotel appeals to business executives looking to combine work and rest, as well as leisure guests who are keen to explore the beauty of the mangroves, discover a traditional Turkish hammam at the Anantara Spa or just relax poolside soaking up the unique views.” “Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara represents a significant addition to our portfolio of properties and a first for Anantara in the region. With this property, Anantara will bring its tradition of understated luxury to the UAE capital and offer an outstanding experience for the growing number of corporate travellers visiting Abu Dhabi. In keeping with Anantara’s brand ethos of incorporating indigenous culture into each property, Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa is a true Abu Dhabi hotel with Emirati traditions and influences reflected throughout the property. In addition to the corporate market, this will be an ideal destination for leisure travellers and Abu Dhabi residents, with visitors guaranteed a memorable experience.” The five-level hotel comprises 222 rooms and features unique Arabian design elements in its archways, mosaics and timber as well as subtle touches of 18-carat gold. Rooms are spacious, from the entry-level Deluxe Balcony rooms, to the Royal Mangroves Residence – the largest suite in the UAE with up to ten en-suite bedrooms. The most opulent accommodation at the hotel can be found in the ‘Royal Mangroves Residence’ which is ideal for dignitaries and VIP’s seeking the ultimate in luxury and exclusivity. Offering a lavish but residential feel, the size of the Royal Mangroves Residence can be adapted depending on guest requirements with options for three, seven or ten en-suite bedrooms and balconies featured throughout. The suite also comes equipped with its own 10 metre rooftop swimming pool with swim-up pool bar, private gym and its own dedicated entrance. Guests of the Royal Mangroves Residence will also have access to a limousine service, private chef, butler and a massage and beauty therapist during their stay. Closely linked to the heritage of the UAE, the Eastern Mangroves district forms a treasured part of Emirati history and was an area of great importance to the late President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The development of the hotel has been carefully designed to protect and enhance the unique Mangroves setting and owner TDIC has used modern marine technology, specifically designed to help preserve the future of this precious environment. The modern architecture of Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara blends unique elements of Arabic design such as archways, mashrabiyas, intricate mosaics and solid timber. Largely subtle and elegant in design, touches of 18-carat gold are also used throughout the property, adding to the luxurious feel. Designed as a haven of relaxation, guests can rejuvenate their senses at the exquisite Anantara spa. The luxury spa is an oasis of comfort and calm, and features a modern twist on the traditional Turkish Hammam, the largest of its kind in the region.  The Anantara spa also features signature Anantara treatments, steam and sauna facilities, as well as separate male and female areas. Guests can experience tranquil treatments in decadent spa rooms and relaxation lounges with a choice of indoor or outdoor facilities. While across the resort, guests can enjoy a world of delectable dining, with signature F&B outlets including the 52-seat Pachaylen Thai restaurant and Ingredients all-day dining venue, which serves a range of international dishes. Offering an authentic Thai experience with a true Thai atmosphere, Pachaylen, the hotel’s signature restaurant already has a waiting list for its opening night on 1st June. Located along an untouched strip framing Abu Dhabi’s protected Eastern Mangroves District, Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara is the new location for inspirational meetings and events.  Featuring the luxurious 560 sq metres Mangroves Ballroom with capacity to accommodate up to 460 guests, this versatile space can be used in its entirety or split into three separate sections.
